PADI Rescue Diver – Part 1

Yesterday (4th May) I completed the first stage of the PADI Rescue Diver Course with Aquatron Dive Centre.

As a PADI Rescue Diver you learn some key stills through the training sessions where you practice the skills and also complete some rescue scenarios, the main skills which I will learn are

  • Self Rescue
  • Recognise and manage stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

As part of the course I attended yesterday the class room session which went other the Knowledge Reviews for the course as well as a small exam at the end to ensure that you had understood the key areas of the course.

This was a very enjoyable session and we have a group of 7 students including myself completing the course.

As part of the course the next stage will be pool sessions as well as open water sessions so watch this space as I talk more about the course and how I am doing / how it has gone!
